Earth Day Community Initiative
Coordinated an Earth Day initiative focused on environmental education and giving back to the local community. Partnered with two Waukee elementary schools to donate rain barrels, arranging for students at Goddard Elementary to paint and personalize them before one barrel remained at their school and the other was donated to Walnut Hills Elementary’s outdoor learning environment. During the delivery, HSI shared the benefits of rainwater conservation with the fifth-grade class. The initiative continued with HSI employees volunteering at Walnut Hills’ Beautification Day, helping students plant vegetables in their raised gardens. This project strengthened community relationships while promoting environmental awareness and hands-on learning.
