Build My Future

I worked with the Des Moines Home Builders Association and Iowa Skilled Trades to be a part of the first annual Build My Future event in Des Moines. I coordinated and scheduled for our working roofing display to be delivered, booth set up, and donation of the materials used from GAF. Build My Future was an immersive hands on event that allowed participants to see multiple career paths available in Iowa. Participants of all ages were able to get their hands dirty with our roofing project manager on how to properly install GAF asphalt shingles and work with some of the tools required for the job. This was a great opportunity for us to talk to students one on one about the benefits of working for a company like HSI while allowing them an opportunity to see and feel what a day in the field could look like in the home improvement industry. From this event we looked to gain internship opportunities and potential new employees.
